Ridgeway Under Fives

Ridgeway Under Fives has been in existence for well over 20 years, catering for children from birth to five years through a parent and toddler group and a pre-school playgroup. We are a registered charity and a non-profit making organisation.

PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP

The Toddler Group meets at Ridgeway Methodist Schoolroom, Ridgeway Moor, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon.

Children from 0 to 3 years are welcome to come along, make friends and play while parents and carers enjoy a coffee and a chat. We have a good selection of indoor and outdoor toys and a large grassed area for outdoor play. Drinks and refreshments are provided for children and adults. The cost is £1.75 for each parent/carer and one child and 75p for siblings.

For further information please telephone Lyndsey (0114 2487252).

RIDGEWAY PRE-SCHOOL

Pre-school is held at Ridgeway Sports and Social Club, Main Road, Ridgeway. Sessions are held Monday to Friday mornings from 9.30 am to 12.00 noon. We welcome children aged 3 to 5 years of age.

All children aged 3 and 4 years are entitled to FREE sessions, funded by the Government.  Children will be offered three sessions a week, starting the term after their third birthday.  This will increase to five sessions for the three terms before they start primary school.

Our experienced staff are qualified up to NVQ III level and we have a staff:child ratio of 1:4. We follow the Foundation Stage curriculum and offer a wide variety of toys, equipment and activities which cover the six areas of learning - personal, social and emotional development, mathematical development, communication, language and literacy, knowledge and understanding of the world, physical development and creative development. We also make daily use of a large outdoor play area.

We hold two Open Days each year when parents and children are encouraged to visit the setting and meet the staff. Individual visits may be arranged through the Supervisor.

We aim to provide a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment where children can make friends, share new experiences and learn through play.

If you would like a place at pre-school for your child, please fill in the Admissions Form and return to the address on the form or to pre-school.
